A multi-fidelity modelling approach for airline disruption management using simulation

چکیده

Disruption is a serious and common problem for the airline industry. High utilisation of aircraft airport resources mean that disruptive events can have large knock-on effects rest schedule. The must rearrange their schedule to reduce impact. focus in this paper on Aircraft Recovery Problem. complexity uncertainty involved industry makes difficult solve. Many deterministic modelling approaches been proposed, but these struggle handle inherent variability problem. This proposes multi-fidelity framework, enabling uncertain elements environment be included within decision making process. We combine integer program find initial solutions novel simulation optimisation procedure improve solutions. allows evaluated whilst accounting empirical evaluation suggests combination consistently finds good rescheduling options.

A New Approach Applying Multi-objective Optimization using a Taguchi Fuzzy-based for Tourist Satisfaction Management

The paper describes the usage of the fuzzy Mamdani analysis and Taguchi method to optimize the tourism satisfaction in Thailand. The fuzzy reasoning system is applied to pursue the relationships among the options of a tour company in order to be used in Taguchi experiments as the responses. In this research, tourism satisfaction is carried out using L18 Taguchi orthogonal arrays on parameters s...

Disruption Management in Airline Operations Control – An Intelligent Agent-Based Approach 107 Disruption Management in Airline Operations Control – An Intelligent Agent-Based Approach

Operations control is one of the most important areas for an airline company. Through operations control mechanisms an airline company monitors all the flights checking if they follow the schedule that was previously defined by other areas of the company. Unfortunately, some problems may arise during this stage (Clausen et al., 2005). Those problems can be related with crewmembers, aircrafts an...

Real-time decision support for airline schedule disruption management

This study applied a method of inequality-based multiobjective genetic algorithm (MMGA) for real-time airline schedule disruption management in response to the schedule disruption of short-haul, quick turnaround flights with an environmental consideration. Empirical study based on a real-world airline flight schedule demonstrated that the proposed model can recover a disrupted schedule within a...

Multi-agent Simulation of Airline Travel Markets

This paper explores the use of a learning classifier system variant, XCS, in learning effective airline decision rules within the context of a multiagent team simulation. From this study a general approach to modeling an airline market has been developed based on a multi-agent, team-based concept. Additionally, several preliminary trials of the simulation have been executed.
